Provisional Partner Visa (Subclass 309)

Applying initially will be a temporary visa where with the help of Subclass 100 visa can be converted to Permanent Residency. In order to get approval for this visa, it takes about a year after submitting the application. This visa is perfect for those living outside of Australia. This visa requires you to either be married to your Australian partner or if you are in a de facto relationship with the local.

Permanent Partner Visa (Subclass 100)

If you hold the Subclass 309 provisional or temporary visa for a period of 2years, only then are you allowed to apply for the permanent partner visa. The permanent partner visa is only valid if you have applied for the provisional Subclass 309 and are in a relationship with local partner.

Temporary Partner Visa (Subclass 820)

It is a temporary visa that can be converted into Permanent Residency via the Subclass 801 visa. This visa is valid to those who are in a de facto relationship with the sponsor or are married. Eligibility for this visa is if your partner is either an Australian or New Zealand citizen.

Permanent Partner Visa (Subclass 801)

Once you are granted with Subclass 820 Temporary Partner Visa for 2years, then can you apply for the Permanent Partner Visa. This visa is for those who have been living with an Australian partner for more than 2years or are in a relationship.
